The Cobb County Domestic Violence Task Force and the YWCA of Northwest Georgia are hosting an informational breakfast entitled, “Connecting Congregations and Communities” on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. at Marietta High School.  The free breakfast will be held in the high school’s seminar room at their 1171 Whitlock Avenue location in Marietta.

The purpose of the breakfast is to bring together local domestic violence experts who will lead a panel discussion about domestic violence in our community and the programs and services that are available to members of local congregations.  The participating panelists are as follows:

  • Judge Joan Bloom, Judge, City of Acworth and City of Austell and Judge, Cobb County Magistrate Court (retired)
  • Cassi Haberler, Family Violence Program Director, YWCA of Northwest Georgia
  • Vic Reynolds, District Attorney, Cobb Judicial Circuit
  • Jonathan Sampson, Lieutenant, Acworth Police Department / Criminal Investigations Division

Also, assisting in preparation for this breakfast are Reverend Roger Allen of St. James Episcopal Church, Mark Barbour, Lead Pastor – New Covenant Fellowship at Marietta First Presbyterian Church, and Sam Matthews, Senior Minister, Marietta First United Methodist Church.
