The journey from victim to survivor can be difficult to navigate on your own. The professional counselors at liveSAFE Resources are here to travel alongside you through the ups, downs and challenges in the healing process. Wherever you find yourself along that journey—no matter if it’s a recent trauma or something that occurred in the past—our counselors are ready to use their skill and expertise to create a safe and compassionate space for you to heal.

All of our counseling services are free, confidential and led by licensed counselors who have completed master’s degree-level training in professional counseling, social work or marriage and family therapy.

The counseling program at liveSAFE Resources engages trauma-informed, evidenced-based practices to help each client move through crisis toward healing. Utilizing a variety of therapy formats, we work with you to design a treatment plan that will work for your specific needs.

Our counseling services include individual and family talk therapy, group therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices, play therapy for children, and alternative therapies.

Counseling Services

One-on-One Counseling

Working through trauma related to sexual or relationship violence is a sensitive process that benefits from a safe, private setting. In one-on-one counseling, you will meet with a counselor who is dedicated to hearing your individual story and helping you navigate through the healing process.

Group Counseling

Sometimes knowing you are not alone on this journey is essential for healing. Our groups offer opportunities for you to connect with others who understand the challenges of recovering from sexual assault or domestic violence. We offer in-house support groups for our housing clients and the public. In some cases, child care may be provided for these groups.

Play Therapy

Children of all ages are affected by sexual and domestic violence, both directly and indirectly. Young children lack the language to let us know how they are feeling. Speaking the language of behavior and play is essential to understanding and helping little ones who are hurting. Our counselors are trained in using play therapy techniques to help children process trauma and develop healthy relationships.

Services in Spanish

We are able to accommodate Spanish-speaking clients in one-on-one counseling and support groups.
