Volunteer Opportunities
ADMINISTRATIVE VOLUNTEER
Administrative volunteers have limited interaction with clients but assist greatly in day-to-day operations of our services and facilities. This can include clerical work, maintenance or event set-up and coordination. Volunteering in these areas is suitable for groups or for those who are unable to make a large time commitment.
FRONT DESK VOLUNTEER
Help manage the front desk, including answering phones, managing the reception area, greeting clients at the front door, and helping to meet client needs in the lobby.
Location: LiveSafe Resources’ main office (48 Henderson St.)
Available Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM
SEXUAL ASSAULT EXAM ACCOMPANIMENT ADVOCATE
Accompany sexual assault victims to forensic medical exams. You would normally meet the victim at the LiveSafe Resources’ campus, but will occasionally go to the hospital. This position requires you to be on-call a minimum of twice a month (12-hour on-call shifts).
Location: LiveSafe Resources office or hospital
Available Hours: Any, but requires two shifts per month as described
COURT ADVOCATE
Assist legal advocates with administrative tasks associated with issuing Temporary Protective Orders (TPOs).
Location: Cobb County Courthouse
Available Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
CHILDREN’S PROGRAM
Assist the child advocate with age-appropriate activities during children’s group. Must be available Wednesday evenings, with the potential for more hours as needed. An interview will be required for this position.
Location: LiveSafe Resources main office (48 Henderson St.)
Available Hours: Weekday evenings- to be coordinated with the Child Advocate
ELDER ABUSE VISITATION
Visit clients in our Abuse in Later Life Program, providing companionship and emotional support.
Location: Varies depending on client
Available Hours: We can work with your schedule. Must be available for visitation at least once a week
SHELTER ADVOCATE
Supporting staff by answering the crisis line, assisting with security management, organizing supplies and special projects as needed.
Location: Shelter
Available Hours: We can work with your schedule. Shelter is 24/7
VICTIM SERVICES ADVOCATE
Assisting the Victim Services Liaison with clients, providing support and resources.
Location: Varies between LiveSafe Resources’ main office and the Cobb County Courthouse
Available Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30AM-4:30PM
